Situated near the zoo. Paintings of famous artistes like Raja Ravi Varma,Rorich,K.C.S. Panikar etc.are seen here. There is also a grand collection of paintings from China,Japan,Tibet,Bali Etc. and copies of pictures on the Ajantha caves.
PADMANABHAPURAM PALACE
Situated 53Km.from Thiruvanathapuram on the way to Kanyakumari.This palace was built for the former kings who ruled Travancore. The art and sculpure of this palace is very famous.
KOIKKAL PALACE
This palace is located at Neumangad 18 Km.from Thiruvananthapuram on the way to ponmudi. In the century Umayamma Rani built this palace,shaped like a “Nalukettu’ and this is the one and only center for coin collection in,kerala.
KAWDIAR PALACE
Sree Chitra Thirnal the last king of Trvancore lived here.He is buried in the beautiful Garden of this palace. The entrance to this palace of historical importance is restricted.

VIZIHINJAM
Located 15Km.from the city. Chers, the historical leaders used this place as their harbour. A rock temple made by drilling a huge rock attracts the tourists very much. There is also an aquarium,with a rich collection of sea animals.

The Sanghumughom beach lies on the western part of Thiruvananthapuram city. The huge sculpure of a “Nymph” made by the famous sculptor Kani Kunjiraman, a star-shaped restaurant etc. are the special attractions of this place. Situated near East fort. This castle was used by king Swathi Thirunal to flourish his artistic thoughts and ideas. The carvings and sculptures in this castle makes it beautiful.
OBSERVATORY
Located in the premises of Kanakkunnu palce. It is the highest area of the city,60mtrs.above the sea level. It was built by King Swathi Thirunal in 1837. We get a clear view of the whole city from here.
PRIYADARSINI PLANETARIUM
Situated near science and Technology museum. We get enough knowledge about Solar system from here. Watching the orbiting of planets and stars on a domed ceiling through projectors is a fantastic experience to the spectators.

The construction was started during the period of His Highness Ayilyam Tirunal, the then Maharaja of Travancore and was completed in 1869.
The crowning of His Highness Chithira Tirunal, the last king of Travancore, was held at the Secretariat. The assembly hall, now a historical monument, attached with the Secretariat complex was inaugurated in 1936. Visitors are allowed only after 15.00 hrs with an entry pass.

The facility is situated near the Thumba Equatorial Rocket Launching Station (TERLS), about 16 km north of Thiruvananthapuram . VSSC also possesses an Ammonium Perchlorate Experimental Plant atAluva.. (LPSC) at Valiamala, renowned for developing the indigenous cryogenic engine, is a part of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center. Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) is the main research and development establishment of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). It was named in honour of the late Professor Vikram A. Sarabhai (1919-1971), founder of the Indian Space Program. This national establishment is working on the development of sounding rockets: Rohini and Menaka, and launchers: ASLV, PSLV and GSLV, along with the solid motor program
Napier Museum was established by the ruler of Travencre.in 1855. It features Kerala, Mughal, Chinese and Italian styles of architecture. A natural air conditioning system keeps the museum pleasant in any weather.
NAPIER MUSEUM
The Natural History Museum, housed in a modern spacious building, is situated in the Napier musem and Zoo complex.
NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM
The museum has a varied and rich collection of minerals and books presented by General Cullen in 1885. The museum has separate galleries for mammals, birds, lower vertebrates, invertebrates, separate room for index collections, skeleton gallery, an ethnographic collection, and a laboratory. There is also an outdoor exhibit of fossil tree trunks near the entrance of the museum. The art collection covers aspects of Kerala’s rich heritage in sculptures of stone, wood and metal. An interesting replica of tharawad is also present in the museum.
